In less than 50 years, the University of Lethbridge has evolved from an idea to one of Canada’s top-ranked universities and leading research institutions. Building on these past accomplishments, the Destination Project is the next step toward realizing the collective aspirations of not only the University but the broader southern Alberta community.

“The new science and academic building gives us the opportunity to reinvest in our campus by creating facilities that will give us the research capacity for the future of this institution,” says Dr. Andy Hakin, Provost and Vice-President (Academic). “We’re not building for our current complement, we’re building for 50 years out.”

The University has been imaginative and innovative in its planning: the Destination Project will be a vibrant hub for engagement and outreach, where paths between lab blocks and the general campus intersect, encouraging interaction and spontaneous collaboration between faculty, students and the community.

The Destination Project will help define the University’s direction for the future. It will advance our region and province, providing incredible opportunities for generations to come.
